Roads & Rail

Despite government budget cuts the south east is still a growth area and roads and rail projects regularly interface with adjoining landowners such that our specialist surveyors are required to submit appropriate representations, compile and negotiate claims for compensation and seek out opportunities to add value by offering temporary accommodation and minerals contract services or similar.

Due to increasing traffic on the roads the government went to tender for a construction firm to widen the Essex section of the M25 into 4 lanes. The construction firm approached landowners to purchase land to widen the motorway rather than the long-winded compulsory purchase route.  We negotiated with the construction firm to purchase agricultural land from landowners and were able to negotiate land sale prices far in excess of normal agricultural values.  Additional monies were also negotiated for many clients for items such as compounds, balancing ponds and installation of services.
